Complain about trains!

Does anyone else want to complain about Melbourne’s Connex services?

Trying to get somewhere on time is bad enough, but with some of the train fleet out of service…it’s even worse. They need to rectify the situation and soon, or else the public aren’t going to be too happy. (Me included).

Just my two cents for the day. Hope everyone else is doing well =)

LOL I just realised…the top of my nook page features the famous Flinders St clocks. How ironic!

We need to look at why our trains got to the point
that the service is affected ?.

    WHO ?……………………….

    WHAT ?…………………….

    WHERE ?…………………

    WHY ?………………….

Fill in the spaces for the answer to “complain about trains”.

The government sold the trains then bought them back at a higher price (to fix the service (hahahaha)), I don’t know who to blame because they point fingers faster than the speed of light. The public are always paying for failed things our government sells then has to buy back because the VOTING public are adversely affected by poor service of something that use to be owned by the public.

My husband needs to be picked up twice a week some weeks because the train gets in too late to catch a bus home (so I drag the kids out of bed in their pyjamas to go get him). He has complained to Connex every time and all they have is excuses and no help. They say “you have to buy a monthly ticket to get your money back” and depending on which Connex employee you talk to/which one reads your letter/which one is not on a power trip and says “No” that statement occasionally works out in reality (it worked out once for us).

The train system sucks and don’t get me started on the government :)

And now, extra services have been cancelled for trains that run DURING PEAK HOUR. I dont know about anyone else, but the Hurstbridge line trains are packed enough as it is (like sardines in a tin!) without them cancelling peak services. Why didnt anyone come up with the idea of cancelling midday services when there are less people likely to be waiting?
Even though Connex get fined everytime they dont meet their targets or have too many trains running late, this doesnt seem to have made them pull their socks up at all. On top of trains running late or not running at all, they think it is ok to “forget” to announce this to the frustrated, waiting passengers.
BUT - I do feel sorry for the Connex workers at the stations - they cop all of the abuse for something that is out of their control. Hopefully all of these major stuff ups will make the government reconsider renewing Connex’s contract at the end of 2008….

I once sent a complaint to Connex via their web page and all I got back was a form message with a few words inserted relating to my problem - a dirty and obviously uncleaned morning train. They really don’t care all that much as they know people will use the trains as there is no other service available. They have us in the palm of their hands!

I also know its not the people on the station who are causing the problem - they are doing their best under difficult circumstances. They usually only know a train is cancelled minutes before the expected train due time.
